Online Therapy
Online therapy provides a wonderful alternative to face-to-face therapy. People are able to access therapeutic services from anywhere, including the comfort of their own home.

Individual therapy or couples therapy can easily translate to a digital platform, if all parties involved consent to a therapeutic process on a digital platform.

Online therapy may be helpful for:
-
People wanting in long-distant relationships wanting to begin relationship therapy.
-
People who reside in remote areas or struggle to access a psychologist in their area.
-
People whose schedules do not permit face-to-face sessions
-
People who are housebound or live with a disability that makes it difficult to access the practice.

This does not mean that online therapy is for everyone. People who are experiencing crisis situations, suicidal thoughts or severe symptoms are encouraged to attend face-to-face sessions.

What do you require for effective online therapy?
-
A stable internet connection.
-
A device, such as smartphone or laptop, with audio and video camera capabilities.
-
Power reserves during load-shedding (making sure that your devices are charged and that you have enough data) prior to sessions
-
A quiet and private space, reserved for at least 51 to 60 minutes.
